About the event
Join us this World Rhino Day for a special private screening of the epic, award-winning, Rhino Man movie, directed by John Jurko and Matt Lindenberg. This event, brought to you by Connected Planet Foundation, in partnership with the Global Conservation Corps and Koru Camp, is the second-only UK screening of this spectacular film, with the first being attended by United For Wildlife's founder, Prince William.
The film follows Anton Mzimba, the head ranger of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, as he and his team battle to protect the rhinos. Anton faces long deployments away from family, dangerous working conditions, and constant threats to his life.
Nearby, a legendary trainer, Ruben de Kock, laments the loss of his best friend and business partner, as he and his wife, Marianne, struggle to take a group of 41 candidates through a rigorous ranger selection at the Southern African Wildlife College.
It's a race to inspire the next generation to care for the rhinos and the natural world, before poachers and habitat loss wipe out one species after another. Greed, desperation, and violence are met with an even stronger set of forces. Those of love, dedication, and a willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice for a better future.
The screening is set in the stunning grounds of Home Park, an historic Royal park with 750 acres of ancient parkland. You may encounter the herds of deer which roam freely whilst you make your way to the Golf Club which merges into the park's unspoilt nature.
100% of the profit raised from this screening will support the Global Conservation Corps Future Ranger Programme, by enabling children from Kruger's surrounding communities to attend a special 3-day immersive camp with our partners in the Greater Kruger, Koru Camp. Here, they will have the chance to learn about the wildlife on their doorstep, whilst building a connection to nature that we know will last a lifetime.
Each ticket includes a glass of prosecco and plant-based canapes. Doors open at 1800 and the film will be screened at 1930. The bar will be open between 1800 and 2300.
Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access to the screening venue as the screen is up a flight of stairs.
Due to the nature of this film, we advise that the film is a 15+.
