"In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught." -Baba Dioum.
NATURE FOR EVERYONE
Connected Planet Foundation is a charity set up with the overarching goal of connecting people to our beautiful planet. We believe that everyone has the right to experience the wonders of the natural world, and we believe everyone should be given the tools to help protect it.

Africa is home to some of the most sought-after wildlife destinations on the planet. Places like the Maasai Mara National Reserve and the Kruger National Park are visited by millions of tourists annually from around the world. But for the communities surrounding these reserves, it is usually a different story. Despite often living within 5km of these wildlife havens, high levels of poverty and lack of opportunity mean that many never get the chance to visit. This has led to high levels of poaching and human-wildlife conflict in these areas. How can you love what you do not know?

Connected Planet work alongside our trusted partners across Africa to provide opportunities for local communities, usually school children, to visit their local wildlife reserves. This ranges from educational day trips through to immersive 3-day camps in the wild, as well as our Connected Planet Conservation Club in Kenya. For most of the children on these trips, it is their first time seeing wildlife such as elephants, lions and rhinos.

If young people have the chance to connect to nature, whilst also learning the importance of protecting it, it can only be a win for both communities and conservation. Our aim is to find the next generation of conservationists and heroes for our planet.

In order for us to truly protect our planet, we must first connect to it.
